The history of DASERA
The initiative can be traced all the way back to the MONA conference on 22 March 2012, where a group of participants from both universities and university colleges agreed over lunch to start a process towards an organisation that could promote knowledge sharing and collaboration among Danish science education researchers. This was followed up at a joint meeting at the ESERA 2013 conference in Cyprus and at BigBang 2015 it was decided to hold a DASERA meeting at VIA on 21/10 2015. This has been followed up by DASERA conferences organized by LSUL in Odense on 16/10 2016 and UCC in Copenhagen on 12/10 2017.
At the last meeting, Jens Dolin (UCPH), Anders V. Thomsen (Metropol) and Trine Hyllested (UCC) agreed to establish a website, which was realized at a meeting at IND on 4/1 2018.
The founding meeting of DASERA was held at the BigBang conference in Odense on 5 April 2018. The meeting was announced in BigBang’s program as well as by email to everyone who has been on the mailing list for DASERA’s previous events, just as it was encouraged to send on to potentially interested parties. The agenda stated, among other things, that a decision should be made on the transformation of the network into an association, and in the meeting notice, reference was made to the draft statutes on the website https://www.ind.ku.dk/forskning/dasera/.
Approximately 20 people had met at the meeting, and it was unanimously decided to transform the DASERA network into an association with a board, and with statutes following the draft. A number of amendments to the proposed statutes were proposed and adopted, and these have been incorporated into the articles of association posted on the website.
